On June 17th, 2026, Uzbekistan will make their FIFA World Cup debut, facing Colombia at Mexico City Stadium*. To begin preparations, head coach Fabio Cannavaro has called up 40 players for a three-week training camp.
The camp will run from May 6th to May 26th in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Not all players will be present from the start; those with ongoing club commitments are expected to join in the following weeks. Among them are captain Eldor Shomurodov (AS Roma, Italy), Abbosbek Fayzullaev (İstanbul Başakşehir, Türkiye), Otabek Shukurov (Baniyas Club, UAE), and Abdukodir Khusanov (Manchester City, England), all of whom will arrive once their seasons conclude.
The squad also includes Khusain Norchaev and Jaloliddin Masharipov, both players returning from injury and hoping to make the final squad.
Throughout the camp, Uzbekistan will play closed-door friendlies against domestic clubs. These matches will give the technical staff a chance to assess player form and refine tactical approaches ahead of the tournament.
